Tianjin Binhai International Airport officially began to carry out the policy of "72 hours transit without visa" (TWOV) for foreigners from certain countries from June 8. TWOV policy enables to facilitate the international visitors' short stay in China without a visa on direct transit.
Tourists from 51 countries with valid visa and air ticket to the third country can go through the formalities at certain counter in the airport.
The implement of TWOV policy makes Tianjin Binhai International Airport to promote its function as the second-largest hub of the North of China, which is beneficial to develop Tianjin Pilot Free Trade Zone.
Following after Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xi'an, Kunming, Chengdu, Chongqing, Shenyang, Dalian, Guilin, Hangzhou, Wuhan and Xiamen, Tianjin becomes the 14th city in the Chinese mainland to embrace the policy.
The qualified countries include:
Schengen Agreement Countries (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Demark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland).
Other European Countries: Russia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia (FYROM), Albania
American Countries: the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile
Asian Countries: Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, United Arab Emirates, Qatar
Oceania Countries: Australia, New Zealand
