Kangxi ceremony performed in Chengde

From July 11, 2013, Kangxi ceremony is performed each night in Chengde, Hebei Province of Northern China. The show depicts the stories of Kangxi (1654-1722) who is the fourth emperor of ancient China's Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). During the reign of Kangxi, China witnessed a strong and prosperous period. Kangxi ceremony has run for 218 performances and attracted nearly 200,000 viewers since its premiere show in June 2011.

Chengde Mountain Resort and Outlying Temples remains the largest extant imperial garden and temple complex in China. Emperor Kangxi (1662-1723) of Qing Dynasty set Chengde as a summer resort and hunting ground for the Qing emperors.
