China Receives 2012 UN-Habitat Scroll of Honor Award Winners

Anji County in East China’s Zhejiang province has received 2012 UN-Habitat Scroll of Honor Awards on September 4. The award is the most prestigious award by the United Nations in recognition for work carried out in the field of human settlements development. And the aim of the award is to honor individuals and institutions instrumental in improving the living conditions in urban centers around the world.

Anji County is located in the Yangtze River Delta. As an ancient city home to nearly half a million people, Anji aims to build the county into an ecological county. Anji is now the global leader in bamboo production, and also is the home for Oscar wining movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
